Biography:


Jerry W. Evenson is a Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.  He has been lead counsel in approximately 60 trials that have gone to judgment or verdict, most of which have been trials to a jury.

 

Jerry was born, raised, and educated in North Dakota.  He graduated in 1980 from the UND School of Law and served as law clerk for now Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle at the North Dakota Supreme Court.  The primary focus of Jerry’s trial practice has been insurance defense, particularly in the areas of liability, coverage, bad faith, and subrogation claims.  He has also represented plaintiffs in personal injury, construction, and contract claims.  He always enjoys a new litigation challenge. 

Jerry and his wife Barb, a paralegal at Zuger Kirmis & Smith for over 20 years, have three children, Amy, Tom, and Trisha, and two grandchildren, Brynn and Ryan.
